I joined Riviera Fitness Center January 18, 2003. At that time I weighed nearly 205 pounds! I was very depressed about my weight and knew I had to do something about it. Since I started working out at Riviera Fitness Center, I learned that losing the weight would not happen overnight. I had to be committed to my exercise program if I wanted to lose the weight. I also knew that my eating habits had to change as well. Presently, I exercise at least 3 times a week. I really enjoy the step aerobics, turbo kick, and muscle toning classes. The instructors make the classes fun. Now I weigh 177 pounds and am very pleased with my progress. I would like to thank the staff at Riviera Fitness Center for providing great instructors and a wonderful workout environment!
   

Emily Sanders

As the big 3-0 was approaching, I decided to take control of a few things in my life. My first goal was to make myself healthier. I completely changed my exercise habits. I went from a "hit or miss" member, to a "see you every day" member. I signed up with Crystal, the nutrition technician and got a whole new perspective on my habits. With the combined encouragement from Riviera Fitness Center staff and the nutrition program, I have lost 20.5 pounds and 21 inches in seven weeks. My disposition, appearance, sleeping habits, and attitude have all improved. I am on my way to a healthier year!
   

Kathy Cheely

For three years I felt awful. I had little energy and felt myself withdrawing rather than face the challenges that come from being overweight. Last fall (2002) I had discovered that I had Type 2 diabetes. From my participation in a research program concerning diabetes, I lost 50lbs over 5 months. I realized I needed regimen of aerobic exercise to firm up what I had lost and to help me lose the remaining 50lbs. I have been a member of Riviera Fitness Center for two months and I have lost 20 more pounds and 16 inches. I feel so good - exercise has given me the energy I never knew I had.
   

Melanie Cadwell

At 198 lbs, Melanie was determined to change. " I went to my local Riviera Fitness Club with no respect for myself and scared as to what I would find once inside." Two years later, Melanie has a new attitude and a new body. "I have more energy, I am more healthy, I crave working out and have made so many new friends all because I joined the team at Riviera Fitness. Inspired by the positive change in her life, Melanie will be competing in the Mrs. Alabama Pageant in May. "I can not look back at my weight and say, 'Been there, done that', and now I hope you will make the same decision I did to join and keep working out for a better you."

I have struggled with weight all my life. I have tried everything from fasting to diet pills. None of the diets I have been on have included exercise. By age 23 I had reached 261lbs. I was miserable. I decided to join Riviera Fitness Center and start a diet plan that would change my life not just a quick fix. That has been the best decision I have ever made. Since July, I have lost 40lbs and am in the best shape I have been in since high school. I could not have done it without the help of the wonderful people at Riviera Fitness Center and the support of my friends and family. I have 50 more pound to go and I know with hard work and Riviera Fitness that I can make it happen.

As a 214 pound 37 year oldwife and mother of one, I was very unhappy with myself and had very low self-esteem. I decided to do something about it. With a healthy diet and exercising at Ladies Riviera Fitness Center, I have been able to lose 66 pounds. With newfound energy and my raised self-esteem, I am much happier with myself. I did it and you can too!

I have been overweight my entire life. It has always been a struggle for me because it really deprived me from living my life to the fullest potential. Since I started working out at Riviera Fitness Center, I have lost 110 lbs and have gone from a size 26 to a size 13. I have lost a person in weight! Sometimes I can hardly believe that I accomplished this. Thanks to the wonderful environment and friendly staff at Riviera Fitness Center it came very easily. There are no words to describe how happy and free I feel. I will never go back to being that overweight and I know I will lose more. If you want something badly enough in life, you will earn it if you dedicate yourself to it. So everyone, stay motivated and dedicated because you can do it too.
